Synopsis & Storyline
A Tale of Two Kitties (1942)
A Tale of Two Kitties is a 1942 Merrie Melodies cartoon directed by Bob Clampett. It marks the first appearance of Tweety, the little yellow canary who later became a Looney Tunes favorite, although he was not named in this short.
The story follows two cats, Babbit and Catstello, who try to catch the tiny bird but end up on the receiving end of his clever tricks. Inspired by the comedy duo Abbott and Costello, the cartoon mixes slapstick, silly dialogue, and classic Looney Tunes humor.
