Synopsis & Storyline
Crosby, Columbo and Vallée (1932)
Crosby, Columbo and Vallée is a 1932 Merrie Melodies cartoon directed by Rudolf Ising. The short pokes fun at the huge popularity of radio singers Bing Crosby, Russ Columbo, and Rudy Vallée.
The story follows a group of Native Americans who become annoyed by how the singers’ music has taken over their lives. A young brave uses a radio to share the songs with his girlfriend, while the forest animals join in with their own funny musical performances.
The cartoon mixes music, dancing, and simple visual gags, ending with the young brave and a group of bees helping rescue three baby birds from a fire.
