The Big Cat (1949)
Synopsis & Storyline
The Big Cat (1949)
The Big Cat is a 1949 American outdoor adventure film directed by Phil Karlson. Set in the Utah hills during the Great Depression, the story follows Danny Turner, a young man who leaves his Eastern home and moves to the place where his late mother grew up.
Danny expects a fresh start, but the area is dealing with two serious problems. A long drought has pushed a large cougar down from the mountains, where it has started attacking local cattle. At the same time, tension between two rival families is turning into an increasingly bitter feud.
