Watch Rock, Rock, Rock! (1956) is a teen fun musical film, which includes Chuck Berry, Frankie Lymon, and other rock legends. One of the most recognizable public domain videos that enshrine the beginning of rock n roll.
Teen Spirit Meets Rock n Roll: A Time Capsule of 1950s
Rock, Rock, Rock! (1956) is a jukebox movie, if you want to get up close-up to the birth of rock n roll. Full of rock and roll by pioneer musicians like Chuck Berry, LaVern Baker, and Frankie Lymon and The Teenagers, the film is more of a time capsule than a film.
Directed with a young Tuesday Weld (concerted singing by Connie Francis) and real-life disc jockey Alan Freed, this film is a combination of teenage dreams and music to the highest octave. It has little to no plot, but is very heavy on the beat- that is the point.
Summary of the plot: A Dress, a Dance, and a Dream
The story is pleasant and easy-going: Dori Graham is a girl of 16 years old who is fond of a strapless dress to school ball so much. Her father is not willing to cover the cost, so she chooses to make the money herself and acquires some lessons in life.
As Dori struggles to finance her fashion ambitions, the movie comes in to fill the void with performances by some of the largest rock and R&B artists of the epoch. In-between scenes, the music takes over by almost stealing the scene.

Why It Still Rocks
Rock. Rock. Rock! is not just a teens movie any more, it is a slice of rock history. The film not only was the first release by Chuck Berry on the soundtrack but also gave a showcase of the generation of artists that would influence the modern music. Performances are rough, happy, and snappy – live capturing cultural revolution.
It is also the beginning of the creative relationship of producers Milton Subotsky and Max Rosenberg who would later establish Amicus Productions, the producers of British horror of the 1960s and 70s.
