Hoyt and with phenomenal stop-motion special effects by Willis O Brien, this silent adventure movie film contributed to the future art of fantasy and science fiction filmmaking.

📚 Plot Summary

Paula White, a missing father sketch-writer, takes the journal to Professor Challenger in London. The illustrations show alive dinosaurs, and Challenger states that prehistoric animals are still on the land, making him ridiculed. Supported by a newspaper, and accompanied by reporter Edward Malone, sportsman Sir John Roxton and skeptic Professor Summerlee, a crew sets off to an unknown plateau in Venezuela.

There they are met by rampaging dinosaurs, a violent ape-man and a volcanic eruption as they are trapped in a dangerous prehistoric world. The struggles take place among Allosaurus, Triceratops and Pteranodons, which came into existence as the result of the stop-motion expertise.

In the end, the crew succeeds in escaping, however, not before they take home a live Apatosaurus and bring him to London, where he breaks free and throws Tower Bridge into the river, disappearing forever.
