🕵️♂️ Noir Meets Comedy
My Favorite Brunette is a love note to detective films of the 1940s, with all the cliches of the genre, dark light and dramatic music, parodied by Bob Hope with his usual wisecracks. There are also clever cameos and an allusion to Hope and Bing Crosby as partners in the film.
Peter Lorre and Lon Chaney Jr. add an appetizingly black touch to the villains of the movie, and Lamour strikes the right balance between glamour and intrigue.
