The screenplay of this freaky drama is also memorable with Robert Towton appearing in the film as Edward Wain. This low-end masterpiece was filmed in Puerto Rico, as a part of P. Rico Trilogy, along with Creature from the Haunted Sea and Battle of Blood Island.
🧪 Plot Breakdown
Harold Gern (Antony Carbone), a businessman of New York, is on vacation in Puerto Rico with his younger wife Evelyn (Betsy Jones-Moreland). His lawyer, Martin Joyce (Robert Towne) joins them with another indictment. They go on a scuba-diving trip in order to get away with the stress.
However, when they come up, they are not able to breathe the air. Returning to the shore with scuba equipment on, they find that the world has transformed: people are killed, air is limited, and the civilization seems to have failed.
When the three are trying to survive in this depopulated alien world, love triangle develops. Fraud is created between Harold, the irate husband, and Martin, the rational lawyer. It is the last act when Evelyn takes sides with Martin, which becomes violent. Only two people are left alive at the emotional climax with an uncertain future.
